New Years Eve Fun

Romans 5:3-4

Met Marvin, a homeless man from Tallahassee, Florida that was down on his luck in Tampa.  Although we told him right off the bat that we didn’t have any money to give, he shared his story of faith and life with us.  We talked for a bit and we prayed for strenght for him in the New Year.  I hope that all of us, including Marvin have significant positive life changes in 2015.  You will be in our thoughts Mr. Marvin.  Keep God first in all you do.

Setting Out For Tampa

Kiddos and I are headed south to Tampa for the Wisconsin vs Auburn Outback Bowl on January 1st 2015.  I promised my daddy that I would go old-school and sleep in the van with my kiddos one night.  We have no reservations tonight… just winging it and we will see how far we make it, and to where!  Going to be a great adventure!

Galatians 5:16

So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature.

Are you open to listening to what the Holy Spirit has to say? It's difficult to know when it is the Holy Spirit leading you, but there are several discernible ways. First, you are open to guidance. Second, you are ready to obey what the Holy Spirit guides you to do even if it is outside of your comfort zone. Third, you know the difference between your feelings and the promptings of the Holy Spirit. So, let the Holy Spirit guide your life.

Day #24...

I feel healthier than I have in a very longtime, I have read my bible more, I have prayed more, and my faith is stronger. Still I know that my flesh is very weak, and that I must keep that in front of me each day. That's why I have continued. Most of my life I didn't realize how selfish I was choosing to live. I do now; and I had been working very hard to change me. I failed so many times over and over. I simply could not change me... but Jesus did.

Yes They Can

The Word Became Flesh

John 1:1-14

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

6 There was a man sent from God whose name was John. 7 He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. 8 He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.

9 The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. 11 He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.

14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Merry CHRISTmas

Very simple and good day with my blessings.  I am so very thankful for my family, and most importantly for my understanding of the importance of this day.  Having a relationship with Jesus has changed my heart and my world completely.  Thank you so very much Lord for sending your Son, so that we might have a way to You.  I am thankful.

Just some moments from my day…

Luke 2:8-15

8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,

14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”

Very long night with daddy in the ER at Flowers Hospital.  He just has been feeling horrible this week.  Although they really didn’t get to any particular reason or cause for his confusion and pains, they did rule out heart attack and stroke.  I was really worried about him and just wanted him to be comfortable.  This week his dialysis schedule has changed and daddy just hasn’t been able to catch a break.  Just praying for comfort for him.

Be A Good One

Got Wisdom And Discernment?

Into the Silent Night

Psalm 51 (NLT)

1 Have mercy on me, O God,

    because of your unfailing love.

Because of your great compassion,

    blot out the stain of my sins.

2 Wash me clean from my guilt.

    Purify me from my sin.

3 For I recognize my rebellion;

    it haunts me day and night.

4 Against you, and you alone, have I sinned;

    I have done what is evil in your sight.

You will be proved right in what you say,

    and your judgment against me is just.

5 For I was born a sinner—

    yes, from the moment my mother conceived me.

6 But you desire honesty from the womb,

    teaching me wisdom even there.

7 Purify me from my sins, and I will be clean;

    wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.

8 Oh, give me back my joy again;

    you have broken me—

    now let me rejoice.

9 Don’t keep looking at my sins.

    Remove the stain of my guilt.

10 Create in me a clean heart, O God.

    Renew a loyal spirit within me.

11 Do not banish me from your presence,

    and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me.

12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation,

    and make me willing to obey you.

13 Then I will teach your ways to rebels,

    and they will return to you.

14 Forgive me for shedding blood, O God who saves;

    then I will joyfully sing of your forgiveness.

15 Unseal my lips, O Lord,

    that my mouth may praise you.

16 You do not desire a sacrifice, or I would offer one.

    You do not want a burnt offering.

17 The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit.

    You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God.

18 Look with favor on Zion and help her;

    rebuild the walls of Jerusalem.

19 Then you will be pleased with sacrifices offered in the right spirit—

    with burnt offerings and whole burnt offerings.

    Then bulls will again be sacrificed on your altar.

Happy #77 Daddy!!!

Happy Birthday Daddy!!!

Day #13

Great day at work, got a little extra cheese (but didn't even have one bite). At lunch I laid in a grassy field and read my bible and prayed (until a guy came to check on me cause he thought I was dead). Great veggie dinner with my sweet Tobi (although my mouth did water a bit while she enjoyed red velvet cake). Fun shopping and just spending time with my sweet girl (even without a list we rocked it). Thank you Lord Jesus for this day.

Date Night With Tobi

Shopping date tonight! Dinner and then gonna make it rain in a mad dash to finally buy some Christmas gifts!

Pieces Of My Day

It was a good day…

Looking Up

meteor shower

Last night I spent some time looking at the sky trying to see a shooting star.  As I looked, I began to feel so tiny under that massive canopy of galaxies. I was in awe and totally amazed at God's work, but wondered how I fit into this picture, because in the midst of everything, I am smaller than a spec of dust.  Yet somehow I know He heard my heart as if I was the only one talking to Him.  He reminded me that He chose a single Man to change it all. With all of the power in the universe, God selected a baby to fulfill all the prophesies and ultimately save all that believe in Him.   Today I feel so awake and so refreshed.  My mind and body feel clean and I am thankful.  I believe.  Thank you Lord Jesus!!!

I pray that everyone has an amazing day!

Walk Thru Bethlehem

Excited to be at Mt. Gilead 'Walk Thru Bethlehem’ again with my trio again! — feeling blessed!

Getting Over Myself

Feeling good now, but had to get over myself big time earlier today. I made a dentist appointment for tomorrow morning. That's not a big deal most of the time, I have been a hundred times, but this one was weird for me. I recently broke a tooth and had a crown come off another tooth, and didn't immediately go to the dentist. Sadly, the longer I put it off the more difficult it was for me to make that appointment. It got to the point where I was so embarrassed and afraid of expenses that I simply didn't want on my plate, that I just ignored the issue.

It may sound trivial to some to read this post, but the bottom line is I was not taking care of myself like I should. This fasting period has been helping me to focus, and I hope it continues to be enlightening and strengthening to my body, mind and soul.

Thank you Jesus for being with me. I need You.

Updated:  12/11 -

Just two hours later and my teeth are completely fixed.  I go back in June for a routine cleaning.  Feeling thankful!

Got fire?

S'mores for these two!!!

Make The Most Of Your Moments

Day #5

Yes, this is just the beginning of day five of this Daniel fast, and I am feeling spiritually uplifted, mentally confident and physically renewed. I would normally be on my 2nd cup of coffee by this time in the morning, and be planning what I would have breakfast. Today, I have only taken in His word and a little bit of water, and my body & mind is more than satisfied. I am very thankful for my friends that continue to encourage my faith walk, and especially thankful for those that are walking with me.

"let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds" ~ from Hebrews 10:19-25

Please know that you can make a difference today. Encourage someone with the things you do, the words you use, and the love you show them.

Spiritual Hunger

Lord, give me a spiritual hunger that I have never known. Increase my thirst for righteousness, for purity, for holiness, for You! Break the power of sin and worldly habits that keep me from You. Pour Your cleansing, living water through me and make me a vessel that You can use to refresh others. Make me an instrument of Your healing and compassion. Use me in Your service. Help me to remember the brevity of my life and to store up treasures in Heaven. Amen

The Boxtrolls

Canned food drive and earliest movie ever with my trio! — watching The Boxtrolls at Carmike 6.

Just about the time I want to ring one of my lil stinkers necks, they melt my heart with kindness! Rough moments turned into helpful kids shopping for canned food, for Salvation Army movie event in the morning, and a little Gingerbread house fun tonight!

Daniel Fast Day #1

Getting A Handle On It

My momma fell today going into her house. She is fine... but daddy couldn't help her up, which only made the situation even more scary for him and her. Thankfully, Darbi was able to race to them and help!!! Thank you Darbi.

I was so glad my momma was okay, but suddenly felt a sinking feeling because this might have been avoided. See about 2 weeks ago, Beth told me that I should install handles for my parents, and I think my response was, "I will do it this weekend". Well, I did not 'get around to it' and I should have!

Racing to my parents house this afternoon, I swung by Home Depot and bought my parents a handle. When I got to their home, Beth was already working to make it happen and get a handle installed for my parents.

Lesson learned! Don't delay doing thise things that help make lives safer.

I am thankful for awesome friends and family, and obviously the fact that I am still learning! I will do better tomorrow!!!
